Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has launched 'Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam', an artisan development scheme.
This would serve as the State government's very alternative to the Centre's PM Vishwakarma scheme.
This is more inclusive and comprehensive, and does not discriminate on the basis of caste.
The scheme covers 25 trades and anyone can pursue a trade of their choice.
The minimum age of 35 years for the Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam.
The Govt will provide loans in the range of ₹50,000 to 23 lakh with subsidy.
They said that the scheme would cover 18 trades and focus on upskilling and providing loans of up to 23 lakh.
