In a major step to promote safe and hygienic food practices for rail passengers, five railway stations under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone have been awarded the ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The following stations received the prestigious certification:
Dimapur Railway Station
Alipurduar Railway Station
Kokrajhar Railway Station
Golakganj Railway Station
New Mal Junction Railway Station
Certification Validity and Process
Dimapur Railway Station has been certified for the period from 24 October 2025 to 23 October 2027 after meeting FSSAI’s safety norms.
The certification follows a comprehensive audit of food stalls, catering units and food handlers at the stations, evaluating hygiene, safe food preparation, storage practices and waste management.
About the ‘Eat Right Station’ Initiative
The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification is part of FSSAI’s nationwide Eat Right India campaign, aimed at promoting safe, healthy and sustainable food practices at public places including railway stations.
Stations are certified based on strict compliance with food safety guidelines, ensuring nutritious and hygienic food options for passengers.
