1BHAVYA Portal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal launched the digital BHAVYA Portal to roll out a ₹33,660 crore scheme aimed at developing 100 world-class industrial parks through Centre-State partnerships portal will also enhance transparency, efficiency, and ease of participation for States.

Highlighting the flexibility of the scheme, the Minister said industrial parks under BHAVYA will be developed according to regional requirements and industrial suitability.

The parks will range from smaller clusters in hilly and North Eastern regions to large industrial zones near major urban centres.

2India has the world's second-largest road network

India indeed has the world’s second-largest road network, spanning over 6.3 million kilometers. It sits just behind the United States, which has the largest network in the world.

The network is the backbone of the country's transportation, handling around 64.5% of all goods and 90% of passenger traffic. Key details of the network include:

Total Network Length: ~6.3 to 6.4 million kilometers

National Highways: Over 146,000 km, forming the primary arterial routes across the country

State Highways: Spans roughly 179,000 km

Other Roads: Over 6.3 million km of rural and urban roads, connecting villages and towns

3SIPRI Report 2025: India Among World’s Top 5 Military Spenders, Holds 190 Nuclear Warheads

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), India ranked as the world’s fifth-largest military spender in 2025, allocating $92.1 billion to defense, and possesses an estimated 190 nuclear warheads

In June 2025, NATO members agreed to a new military spending target of 5.0% of GDP by 2035, sharply raising the previous 2.0% benchmark set in 2014.

Ukraine held the world's highest military burden, with military spending equivalent to 40% of its GDP.

4Kirti Chakra award

President Droupadi Murmu conferred 7 Kirti Chakras (including 2 posthumously) at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Kirti Chakra is India's second-highest peacetime gallantry award. It is conferred upon military personnel, police, and civilians for exceptional courage, conspicuous bravery, or self-sacrifice away from the battlefield

President confers 07 Kirti Chakras (02 posthumous), 15 Vir Chakras (03 posthumous) & 29 Shaurya Chakras (01 posthumous) during Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026 (Phase-I)

Lt. Commander Dilna K. and Lt. Commander Roopa A. of the Navy are among the Shaurya Chakras recipients.

The President presented the gallantry award to them for their exemplary endurance, bravery and devotion to duty in Navika Sagar Parikrama II.

Lt. Commander Roopa along with Lt. Commander Dilna sailed over 25,600 nautical miles through the Indian, Pacific, Atlantic and Southern Oceans.
