The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is initiative aimed at transforming India’s fisheries sector.

The program is set to run from 2020 to 2025, with an investment of ₹20,050 crore.
It aims to integrate inland fisheries and aquaculture into the broader economy.
The vision aligns with “Viksit Bharat @2047,” focusing on sustainable growth and development in the fisheries sector.
PMMSY has two main components
Ø The Central Sector Scheme (CS) is fully funded by the central government
Ø The Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) is partially funded and implemented at the state level.
Ø Each component includes various activities aimed at enhancing production, infrastructure, and fisheries management.
