DRDO Successfully Flight-Tests Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM)

Why in News:

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the flight-test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM).

The test was carried out from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

Key Highlights:

All mission objectives were successfully achieved during the test.

Performance was tracked using various instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur.

LRLACM is an indigenously developed cruise missile.

All major sub-systems have been developed by DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners.

Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengalurserved as the nodal laboratory for the project.
