India and Algeria have agreed to further strengthen defence cooperation during the inaugural India–Algeria Joint Commission meeting held in New Delhi. The meeting marks an important step in deepening strategic and military ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation in: Military training, Joint military exercises, Defence industries, Medical cooperation between armed forces & Maritime and security collaboration
The two countries also signed the “Rules of Procedure,” which will serve as the official framework for implementing future India–Algeria defence cooperation and Joint Commission meetings.
Note: The defence partnership between India and Algeria has grown rapidly since both countries signed a Defence MoU in 2024. High-level visits and regular strategic dialogue have further strengthened bilateral relations.
