Why is in news? 3rd Annual Edition of International SME CONVENTION, 2023 to be held in New Delhi from 19th – 21st March
The 3rd annual edition of the International SME Convention 2023 (ISC) is going to be organized jointly by the Ministry of MSME & Ministry of External Affairs, India SME Forum, along with Govt. of Madhya Pradesh as a Key State Partner and Govt. of Uttar Pradesh as Associate State Partner.
International Network for SMEs (INSME) and World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (WUSME) are the international partners and TATA AIA is the insurance partner for the ISC 2023 from 19th – 21st March 2023in New Delhi.
This year ISC, 2023 is expecting the participation of 1500+ SMEs with the main focus areas being India's major four Sunrise Sectors, which are Cleantech & Green Energy, Manufacturing, Services Sector and Agro food Processing & Agri Implements sector.
There will be several panel discussions that will aim to provide actionable insights and recommendations for building sustainable ecosystems for MSMEs and Plugging SMEs into Global Value Chains, by building strategic partnerships, leveraging digital platforms, focusing on innovation, complying with standards and regulations, and accessing finance.
India is the World's Largest Market comprising of 350 Million Urban Consumers & over 2 million hi-growth SMEs with an annual growth rate of 20%.
International SME Convention is the foremost International platform for discussing & sharing the best practices for enterprise development, facilitating business discussions and encouraging trade partnerships by and between innovative, progressive and sustainable small and medium enterprises, from all over the world.
The previous editions of International SME Convention (ISC) were co-organised by the India SME Forum jointly with the federal Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises of the Government of India and in association with the Economic Diplomacy & States Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, with the support of UNIDO & UNDP as Institutional Partners.
The convention focused on intensive business & trade relations along with the specific focus on co-operation between international entrepreneurs and selected entrepreneurs from India. The other major areas of deliberation were sectoral business opportunities for SMEs & problems faced by women entrepreneurs.

It was formed in May 2011, with the objective to propel a Small and Medium Business Movement across the country, India SME Forum is a non - governmental, non-political, non-trade union, not for profit organisation.
Starting out with 400 members in 2011, today we have over 86,000+ MSMEs as members, 270+ Sectoral, Regional Associations as Supporters & International Network organizations as partners.
Our aim is to provide a voice to small and medium entrepreneurs, advocate changes to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and to support and recognise innovative, globally competitive, SMEs in India.
The Forum is a gazetted member of India’s National Board of MSME, the apex MSME Statutory Body, since 2015, a Member of the High Powered Monitoring Committee of the National SC/ST HUB under Stand Up India and a Member of the RBI’s Standing Advisory Committee on Flow of Institutional Credit to MSME Sector, apart from contributing to various national and international think tanks, on the MSME Entrepreneurial ecosystem.
