News: On December 31, 2025, the Ministry of Rural Development launched the ‘Land Stack’ pilot in Chandigarh and Tamil Nadand released the ‘Glossary of Revenue Terms’.

- What is Land Stack? Inspired by models in Singapore and Finland, it is a GIS-based "Single Source of Truth" for land records. It integrates ownership, cadastral maps, registration, and even utility connections (water/electricity) into one digital portal.
- DILRMP Linkage: It is the next evolution of the Digital India Land Record Modernisation Programme.
- Glossary of Revenue Terms (GoRT):
- The Problem: Land terms vary wildly across India (e.g., Jamabandi, Khasra, Patta).
- The Solution: A standardized reference in English, Hindi, and Vernacular scripts to make records interoperable across states without replacing local traditions.
