Lucknow has officially been declared a UNESCO ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’ during the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference, currently under way in Uzbekistan.
About UNESCO Creative City Network (UCCN):
It was created in 2004. The network covers seven creative fields namely Crafts and Folk Art, Design, Film, Gastronomy, Literature, Media Arts and Music.
To promote co-operation among cities that identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development.
The UNESCO Creative Cities aims to achieve Sustainable Development Goals 11 through innovative thinking and action to benefit communities at the urban level.
Note: No Indian cities in the field of Media Arts and Design
