The Government of India launched the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) strategy was launched in 2018 under the Prime Minister’sOverarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment (POSHAN) Abhiyaanwith thetarget to reduce anaemia by 3% per year.
The targeted groups are -Children (6-59 months), Children (5-9 years), Adolescents girls and boys (10-19 years), Pregnant women, Lactating women and Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) group (15-49 years)in life cycle approach.
Anemia Mukt Bharat Index 2020-21, launched by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) - Madhya Pradesh is at the first position with a score of 64.1 followed by Odisha, Himachal Pradesh.
