1.Sharing Waters: On The TUNGABHADRA Model

The Tungabhadra dam is crucial for irrigation in three southern states:
Karnataka: 9.26 lakh acres
Andhra Pradesh: 6.25 lakh acres
Telangana: 87,000 acres
In August 2024, a crest gate failure during heavy inflows highlighted infrastructure vulnerabilities.
Origin - The river, formed near Shivamogga in Karnataka, flows for about 531 km before joining the Krishna at Sangamaleshwaram in Andhra Pradesh.
The combined waters then flow eastwards and enter the Bay of Bengal at Hamsaladeevi.
Course - 382 km lies in Karnataka, 58 km forms the boundary between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and 91 km flows through Andhra Pradesh

The Tamil Nadu government has issued a government order appointing a new curriculum design committee headed by former ISRO scientist Mayilsamy Annadurai for school education in Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu government has issued a government order appointing a new curriculum design committee headed by former ISRO scientist Mayilsamy Annadurai for school education in Tamil Nadu.
The curriculum for school students in Tamil Nadu is being gradually changed.
During the last DMK regime, a high-level committee and an expert committee were formed to design a new curriculum, including ISRO chairman Narayanan, cricketer Ashwin, scientist T.V. Venkateswaran, among others. Professor Sultan Ahmed Ismail was appointed as its chairman.
The committee examined the changes that need to be made in the current curriculum, syllabus, assessment methods, and teaching approaches, received feedback from various stakeholders, including teachers, parents, educators, and students, and prepared recommendations for the development of school education and a report for a new curriculum, which was submitted to the government.
Following that, the new curriculum has been implemented from Grade 1 to Grade 3 in the current academic year as the first phase.
Mayilsamy Annadurai (Moon Man of India)
He was served in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for 36 years contributing to more than 60 satellites made in India.
Most significant achievements of ISRO namely Chandryanna-1 and Mangalyaan (Moon and Mars missions), as Project Director andProgramme Director for the respective missions. He was also instrumental in operationalizing the NAVIC constellation.
