Findings:

A huge stone pillar that could possibly be a remnant of a Chola-era palace

Brick structures of Chola period

An ancient coin mould

A terracotta seal

Piece of broken Chinese Celadon and porcelain ware

iron nails, potsherds, shell/glass bangles and small beads

Porpanaikottai: First Phase excavations

Location: Pudukottai District

Significance: Sangam Age Fort is believed to have existed

Findings:

Three-course brick structure

A gold nose stud

A Bone point

A carnelian bead

Circular brick structure

Water channels

Hopscotch toys, spouts, Pieces of glass bangles and beads, green stones, a terracotta lamp, a coin, a spindle whorl and rubbing stone

Potteries:

Glazed ware, blackware, black and red ware, roof tiles, perforated ware and three pieces of rouletted ware, a distinctive type of decorated pottery
