1Sangeet Natak Honour for Actor Vagai Chandrasekhar

Vaagai Chandrasekar has acted in over 300 films during a career spanning more than four decades.

He had earlier won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance inNanba Nanba and was conferred the Kalaimamani award by the Tamil Nadu government.

Sangeet Natak Akademi has decided to institute “Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar” from the year 2006 to be awarded to artists who have shown / demonstrated conspicuous talent in the fields of music, dance and drama.

Young outstanding practitioners upto the age of 40 years will be eligible to be considered for Yuva Puraskar every year. Age as on the date of nomination received will be reckoned from 1st April of that year.

Yuva Puraskar will be given annually and the total number of Yuva Puraskar in a year shall not exceed 33.

The Yuva Puraskar may be given in the following five Fields of activity:

Music,Dance,Theatre

Other Traditional / Folk/ Tribal/ Dance/ Music/ Theatre and Puppetry.

2India to Host 11th BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting in Gurugram on 25–26 June 2026

India will host the 11th BRICS Energy Ministers' Meeting on 25–26 June 2026 in Gurugram, Haryana, under its BRICS Chairship 2026.

This is India’s fourth BRICS Chairship, following its earlier tenures in 2012, 2016 and 2021.

India's BRICS Chairship in 2026 is guided by the overarching theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability (BRICS)."

BRICS today comprises 11 countries - Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, which together account for nearly half of the world’s population and around 40 per cent of global GDP.

India's Presidency has structured the BRICS Energy Agenda around three broad priorities:

Energy Access and Equity

Technology and Innovation
