Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission Signs Three Mous To Bolster Medicine Safety, Quality Standards & Capacity Building In Goa

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to improve medicine safety, quality standards, and training.

These MoUs were signed in the state of Goa under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The IPC signed agreements with:

Goa State Pharmacy Council (GSPC)

Quality Council of India (QCI)

HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES)

Why This Is Important

Improving Medicine Safety: The MoUs aim to make medicines safer and improve quality checks. They focus on strengthening drug safety systems across healthcare facilities.

Better Reporting of Drug Issues: A key step is to improve reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) so that problems with medicines can be tracked and addressed.

Training and Awareness: The agreements include training workshops and programmes for pharmacists and health workers.There will be joint initiatives for public awareness on medicine quality and safety

Capacity Building and Collaboration

IPC and QCI will work together to plan and run quality improvement and training activities.

Sharing technical resources and expertise is part of the partnership.
