The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Raebareli has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boehringer Ingelheim India Pvt. Ltd. to advance pharmaceutical education, research, and innovation through enhanced industry–academia collaboration.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.

Key Objectives of the MoU:

Promote joint research in pharmaceutical sciences and drug development.

Facilitate academic exchange and skill development programmes.

Support innovation in novel drug delivery systems and advanced pharmaceutical technologies.

Enhance students’ exposure to industry practices and research commercialization.

Launch of AMRITVA Cohort 2

During the event, Cohort 2 of AMRITVA (Alliance for Medicinal Research, Innovation, Translation & Value Acceleration) was also launched.

The initiative aims to accelerate translational research and promote entrepreneurship in the pharmaceutical sector.

It focuses on converting academic research into commercially viable healthcare solutions.

About NIPER:

NIPERs are a group of national level institutes of pharmaceutical sciences declared as Institutes of National Importance by the Government of India.

They operate under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers and provide postgraduate and doctoral programmes in pharmaceutical sciences.

Campuses:

There are seven NIPER institutes located in Mohali (Punjab), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Hajipur (Bihar), Hyderabad (Telangana), Kolkata (West Bengal), Guwahati (Assam), and Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh).

NIPERs contribute significantly to skilled manpower development, research in drug discovery, formulation, regulatory science, and healthcare innovation.
