Sikkim has been officially declared a Fully Literate State under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram initiative.
Sikkim has become the 5th state in India to achieve this distinction.
Sikkim achieved a literacy rate of 99.82%, surpassing the Ministry of Education's benchmark of 95% literacy required for recognition as a fully literate state under the ULLAS programme.
