Sikkim Declared India's 5th Fully Literate State

Sikkim has been officially declared a Fully Literate State under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram initiative. 

Sikkim has become the 5th state in India to achieve this distinction.

Sikkim achieved a literacy rate of 99.82%, surpassing the Ministry of Education's benchmark of 95% literacy required for recognition as a fully literate state under the ULLAS programme. This achievement reflects the state's success in adult education, foundational literacy, numeracy, and lifelong learning initiatives.
