In November 2025,Mandale Depotfor Mumbai Metro Line 2B, spread over 32 hectares, was inaugurated in Mumbai, Maharashtra, becomingAsia’s largest and first elevated metro facility.
This 23.6 kilometer (km)-long elevated Metro Line 2B connects DN Nagar (Andheri West) to Mandale (in Mankhurd East) of Mumbai.

Capacity:The Mandale Depot, a two-level structure, has the capacity to accommodate72 rakes.
- The depot houses India’s longest965meter(m)-long test track for advanced train trials, along with four Shunting Necks and one Elevated Neck to optimize train movement and reduce turnaround time.
Control Centre:The depot is anchored by aG+3 Depot Control Centrethat functions as the brain of the system, designed to work around the clock and monitor train movement, maintenance schedules, and safety systems in real time.
Other Key Features:The new depot features a 175 kilolitre per Day (KLD) effluent and sewage treatment system for recycling water, over 100 kilometer( km) of underground utilities for smooth operations, and noise and dust suppression systems to reduce environmental impact.
