Tezpur Litchi became Assam's first Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged product in 2013.
It is primarily grown in the Sonitpur district of Assam.
Major varieties include Bombaiya, Chahi, Bilati, Piyaji, Chinese, Rongiya, Kath Bombaiya and Elaichi.
