The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) announced the winners of the National Panchayat Awards 2025 (NPA-2025), recognising outstanding Panchayats for excellence in rural governance, sustainable development, and grassroots administration. A total of 42 Panchayats from across India have been selected for the awards. The award ceremony will be held on 3 June 2026 in New Delhi.
Objective of the National Panchayat Awards
The awards aim to promote:
Inclusive rural development
Participatory governance
Sustainable development at the grassroots level
Efficient service delivery by Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs)
Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through local governance initiatives
Two Major Categories of Awards
The National Panchayat Awards 2025 were conferred under two major categories:
Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP)
This award recognises Gram Panchayats for exceptional performance across the nine themes of Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs).
A total of 34 Gram Panchayats from 17 States and Union Territories were selected under this category.

A total of 8 Panchayats were selected under this category.
Financial Incentives Under the Awards
Winning Panchayats will receive financial assistance ranging from ₹50 lakh to ₹5 crore depending on category and rank.
Best District Panchayat Award: Up to ₹5 crore
Best Gram Panchayat Award: First prize of ₹1 crore under thematic categories

The awards are implemented under the Incentivization of Panchayats (IoP) component of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme — Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
