The Government of India(GoI)observesJanjatiyaGaurav VarshPakhwadafrom November 1 to 15, 2025, with an aim to honour India’s rich heritage, culture, and contributions.
- The fortnight-long celebration was part of the year-long Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, marking the150th birth anniversaryof tribal freedom fighterBhagwan Birsa Munda, which falls on 15 November 2025.

Celebration:Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi announced the institutionalization of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwason 15th November to honor Bhagwan Birsa Munda and other tribal freedom fighters.
Organizers:The celebrations were organized under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), under the guidance of Union Minister Jual Oram, MoTA.
Celebration across India:It includes a Career guidance programme in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a Plantation Drive & Heritage Rally in Andhra Pradesh (AP), Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) benefit surveys, health camps, youth clubs in Jamm& Kashmir (J&K).
- Other states, including Karnataka, Nagaland, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh (UP) also celebrated through various school level competitions.
