Context: The Ministry of Agriculture has restructured its centrally sponsored schemes into two umbrella programs: PM-RKVY (sustainable agriculture) and Krishonnati Yojana (food security).
- The Merger: Three major schemes—Krishonnati Yojana, National Mission on Natural Farming, and National Bee and Honey Mission—are being merged into the flagship PM-RKVY.
- Performance-Based Funding: In a major shift, 30% of fund allocation to states will now be linked to reform milestones and "assessment-based initiatives."
- Outlay: The total proposed expenditure for these umbrella schemes is approximately ₹1,01,321 crore.
